- Short story: Awit is a gift from a friend. She is a cross breed of Lhasa Apso and Poodle, though the vet assistants at the Modern Veterinary Clinic in Jumeirah commented that she looks more like a Poodle.
Awit is the tagalog word for Psalm, as well as for "to sing" (v.) or "song" (n.)
Awit was born in Dubai and spent most of her puppy months there. Now, thanks to DKC's pet relocation service, Awit is now in the Philippines, where she is welcomed warmly by playmates Psalm (Westie Mix), Sly (Jack Russel) and Lumen (Basset).
In the UAE, Awit has been to places like Jumeirah, Mirdif Town Center and Festival City. She has also been to Um Al Quwain. She has also been a regular passenger of Dubai Transport, despite the taxi drivers' protests and rejection, hehe. Her greatest travel adventure though was the plane ride from Dubai to the Philippines!
There's a Filipino adaptation of a telenovela that features (as one of the two dog characters) a Poodle named "Fifi". Whenever we bring Awit out for a walk in our village, the kids always say, "Hey, look, that's Fifi!"
Call her Awit or Fifi or simply "Kulit" (which means full of mischief in a funny and always laughable way). She is indeed a small bundle of joy!
